Paisley Mason Webster

Paisley Mason Webster’s work has always been about relationships, and about the patience it takes to keep them. Real estate, art, design, and the civic and philanthropic life of Santa Fe. She has learned each of those from the inside, and Webster Santa Fe is where they meet.

As Managing Director of Webster Enterprises, she sets direction across its positions in private equity, real estate brokerage and development, and Webster Collection, the family’s art gallery. She is a founder and principal of W Department, the family’s design boutique, and a principal of 54 1/2 Projects, an arts consultancy in Santa Fe. The list reads like four jobs. It is one practice: the same judgment brought to a house, a painting, a garment, and a balance sheet.

She came to it from finance. At Thornburg Mortgage she led correspondent lending for the Southwest region, which left her with a working grasp of lending, risk, and the machinery underneath a complicated transaction. She went on to serve as head of development at SITE Santa Fe, where the subject changed and the discipline did not. Listen closely. Keep confidences. Build relationships meant to last decades rather than quarters. Many of the people she met in those years are now colleagues, clients, collaborators, and friends.

Real estate is where more and more of her week now goes. Through Webster Estates, the family’s team of associate brokers at Sotheby’s International Realty, she represents buyers and sellers throughout Santa Fe and northern New Mexico. It is less a departure from the career behind her than a continuation of both halves of it: read the numbers accurately, and advise plainly about what they mean for the life someone is trying to build. She is direct about risk, unhurried about decisions, and thorough through the long middle of a transaction, where most of the work actually happens.

For her clients, the relationship rarely ends at the closing table. Santa Fe is small enough that it cannot. The buyer becomes a neighbor, then a collector, then the person who calls four years later about a contractor, a painting, or a house down the street. Paisley has built a career on being worth that call.
