Since 1972, Chris Webster has pursued and enjoyed a professional career that has included property and business development, brokerage, appraisal and analysis, consulting, art and cultural activities, publishing, and philanthropy. He has been the Founder, Officer, and Director of numerous for-profit and not-for-profit institutions and enterprises and has led several important sales and acquisitions of those companies. 

In 1976, Chris established his brokerage and consulting business, Webster Estates, on the historic Plaza in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and subsequently became the exclusive affiliate of Leading Estates of the World and Sotheby’s International Realty in New Mexico and Mexico. Chris was honored as the Sotheby’s International Realty (SIR) Affiliate of the Year for 1994-1995 and served on the company’s advisory board for 15 years, aiding the company’s growth and development nationally and internationally. SIR acquired Christopher Webster Real Estate in 1998 as its first-ever acquisition of an affiliate company. In 2015, Chris acquired Leading Estates of the World and became its CEO and publisher.

Throughout his career, Chris has specialized in representing and selling residential estates, ranches, and commercial properties in Santa Fe, as well as coastal estates and historic haciendas in Mexico and distinctive residential and resort properties in Hawai’i, Western Europe, and elsewhere. Additionally, Chris helped create the Certified Historic Property Specialist (CHPS) program and designation awarded by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and served on the Recreation and Development Council (RDC) within the Urban Land Institute as well as receiving numerous real estate and appraisal designations. 

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Duke University.
