Patrick McFarlin (b. 1939) is an American Postwar and Contemporary artist based in Santa Fe and Galisteo, New Mexico. Known for his sweeping, expressive landscapes and community portraits, he has exhibited his paintings and bronze sculptures at renowned institutions nationwide.
His diverse and expansive career includes several notable highlights:
- Pat’s Downtown Club: Between 1994 and 1996, McFarlin hosted open studio hours where he painted over 300 portraits of Santa Fe locals. This highly acclaimed extended portrait series was later exhibited at SITE Santa Fe.
- Landscapes: Along with vibrant scenes of the American West and Midwest, he frequently paints unique plein-air landscapes on diminutive surfaces, such as the tops of wooden cigar boxes. [1]
